My First Reiki Experience
Just giving my personal experience of what I went through at the beginning of my reiki journey.
My First Reiki Experience
The first time I had ever gotten reiki was 2018. I received it from an Occultist named Crystal Williams(owner of Enchanted Devas, https://www.enchanteddevas.com). The reiki I chose to receive was called Ancestral Ka Reiki, which was a very intense form of reiki because it dealt with the traumas of our ancestors. As a Black Woman from the south, you know my ancestors had to deal with some utter nonsense like slavery, jim crow and even murder due to white supremacy. I believe she performed my reiki session on a Friday or Saturday; her method was distant but non-virtual and ritualistic being that she's an Occultist and all 😁😁😁. Now when you're receiving reiki or any other kind of spiritual work, you're suppose to make sure you drink plenty of fluids(preferably with electrolytes in them). I tried my best to do those things and felt fine over the weekend, I even felt fine for most of Monday when I had to go to work. At the time I was an independent contractor so I wasn't in the position to take time off; when you're self-employed, if you don't work you don't get paid. Welllll I was feeling like my usual good self, up until I was half-way through with my route(I was a courier). Before I went to that middle stop, my stomach started feeling a lil bubbly, then I started feeling nauseous. So I went to the grocery store bathroom that was in the same plaza as my stop hoping that whatever way I needed to release I would quickly so I could go about my day. As we know in these types of situations that shit didn't happen 🤣🤣🤣. I ended up getting some ginger ale and going to my pick-up stop, of course it was a day when they were going damn slow🙄🙄🙄. I managed to maintain some level of normalcy while having to wait, but as soon as I got in my car, chiiiiild the purge had started. Basically, I was leaning out of the car chuckin up food from Sunday. At the time I was thinking the cooked food I got from the grocery store was bad, it didn't dawn on my at the time that it was the reaction my body was having from the reiki I had gotten. Thinking that was the end of it, I rinsed my mouth out with water and started driving to the next stop. Apparently that wasn't the end of it; I had to pull over and let it loose again. Then it started coming out the other end, I quickly decided to take my ass home and hoped that my mom was home to finish the rest(she was a courier too subcontracted with the same company). Fortunately my house was close to my next stop so I didn't have far to go. I told my mom how sick I was and asked her if she could finish the route because I couldn't. She must've felt sorry for me because she didn't charge me after I asked her how much she wanted to be paid😂😂😂. So I mustered up enough strength to clean my clothes and clean myself up. I'm still surprised I could but I wasn't gonna let my 38 year old ass lay in filth. By that time I realized my body was going through a physical detox as a result of the major energetic detox the reiki provided. This is an example of the physical affects that reiki can have on you, so if you can it's best to take the day off or do the least amount of work possible for a few days because releasing a years or lifetimes of trauma can take a toll on your body. The next 2 or 3 times I'd gotten reiki I went through something similar, but I learned to be prepared because I didn't have the luxury of taking off. Luckily each experience was better than the last. After my 1st attunement I no longer have that problem thank goodness🥴🥴🥴. I conclude by saying just be prepared for whatever and be open to the experience of healing them wounds that have been festering within you for too long🧘🏾♀️🧘🏾♀️🧘🏾♀️.
